Our Story

Calvey Baptist Church is said to be the oldest Baptist church in Franklin County, Missouri.

The church began meeting in 1829 on a ridge outside Robertsville, MO, near Calvey creek, in the former township of Calvey (hence the church name).  

The church moved to the current location in 1869, and met in a log cabin until 1889, when a new sanctuary was built (the center portion). Additions on the front and back were added later. The building sits on a hill next to Calvey Baptist Church Cemetery, with a beautiful view to the east.
